Configuring queues

About this task

Configure queueing in a Store Context task to forward customers to a group of agents depending on what the customer answers. For queueing, select one True/False or Options question and assign queues to the answer options you configured. For each option, you can assign one queue. You can assign a queue multiple times.

If you configure multiple queue configurations within one Store Context task, Automation checks configurations in descending order and uses the first valid configuration. To use other queue configurations, create separate Store Context tasks. The best practice is to add a Store Context task after each Input task containing a queue-related question.

Automation updates the queue in Orchestration each time when Automation triggers a valid queue configuration. Orchestration uses the last valid queue configuration in a Connect Agent task.

Before you begin

Add an Input task and configure a True/False or Options question to collect the relevant information for queueing.

Procedure

  1. In the Self-service Flows view, locate the required self-service flow and click the Edit icon.
  2. Click the Flow creator tab.
  3. On the palette, click the Store Context task and drag and drop the task to the canvas.
  4. Click the Store Context task to configure.

    Automation shows the Properties pane.

  5. In the Name field, type a task name.
  6. Click the Queues tab.

    Automation shows the Queues window.

  7. To add a new queue configuration, click the Add icon.

  8. In the Question field, select the question related to queueing.

    Automation shows True/False and Options questions.

  9. In the Tag field, select one of the options you configured.
  10. To select the required queue, in the Queue field, use the Search... field or scroll the list of the available queues.
  11. To save the changes, click the Save icon.

    Automation shows the queue configuration in the list of configurations.

  12. Repeat steps 7 to 11 for all questions and options to which you link queues.
