Date Time/NTP Server field descriptions

Name

Description

NTP

The option to enable the NTP server.

  • Bundled server: If the NTP server is enabled during the installation, the check box is selected by default on the Date Time/NTP Server page.

  • Software Only server: The option is disabled by default on the Date / Time NTP Server page.

From Release 7.x and later, AE Services does not support System Platform and bundled server offers.

NTP Server

The option to add or delete an NTP server.

Type the name or IP address of an NTP server (remote time server). The name can be a hostname in the hostname.example.com format or the name of one of the default servers that RHEL uses on the Public NTP Server project for example, 0.rhel.pool.org.

You must use an explicit IPv4 address or an IPv6 address. Do not use an address that is in the combined IPv4 and IPv6 format.

The field is available only when the NTP check box is selected.

Date

The current date in the MM DD YYYY format.

Time

The current time for the server.

You can set the following value:

  • Hour [HH]: The current hour in the [HH] format based on the 24–hour clock.

  • Minute [MM]: The current minute of the hour.

Time Zone

The time zone in the Country/City format for the AE Services server.

The field is available only when the NTP check box is selected.

Delete

To remove an NTP server.

The field is available only when the NTP check box is selected.

Apply Changes

To apply the changes.

Cancel Changes

To cancel the changes.
