Converting the *.pem file to the *.ppk format

Before you begin

Download the PuTTYGen software.

Procedure

  1. Double-click the downloaded puttygen.exe file.
  2. In the PuTTY Key Generator dialog box, click Conversions > Import key.
  3. On Load private key, select a .pem file from your local computer, and click Open.

    The system displays the key in the Key section.

  4. Click Generate.

    The system takes a few minutes.

  5. Click Save private key.
