Checklist for push notification service configuration

Use this checklist to set up the push notification service for your iOS applications.

Depending on whether you are planning to work with the default Avaya Push Notification provider or a third-party push notification provider, the task you perform are slightly different.

Set up an Avaya Spaces account.

Configure the third-party push notification provider.

This step is not required if you are working with the Avaya Push Notification provider.

Configure your enterprise network firewall.

See Firewall configuration.

If you are using the Avaya Push Notification Provider, determine if you want to use CA certificates built-in to RHEL.

See Configuring the use of CA certificates built-in to RHEL for the Avaya Push Notifications provider.

If you do not want to use built-in certificates, you must upload CA certificates to the truststore as described in Managing truststore certificates.

Configure the push notification provider on the Avaya Aura® Web Gateway.

Configure push notifications for mobile applications.

Configure Avaya Aura® Session Manager and Avaya Aura® Communication Manager.

Set the parameters to enable push notifications on iOS applications.

To enable push notifications in iOS applications, you must configure the required parameters using Avaya Aura® Device Services or a settings file. Avaya Aura® Device Services is the recommended option if it is available in your deployment.
