Notes |

|
1 |
Ensure that virtual machines you plan to use to deploy Avaya Aura® Web Gateway comply with the virtual machine requirements. |
See the requirements in Software requirements. |
|
2 |
Download the latest Avaya Aura® Web Gateway OVA from PLDS. |
See Obtaining the Avaya Aura Web Gateway OVA file. |
|
3 |
Deploy a virtual machine or KVM using the OVA. |
Avaya Aura® Web Gateway supports the following deployment options:
For more information about the deployment process, see the appropriate procedure in Virtual machine deployment options. The Avaya Aura® Web Gateway OVA file includes openjdk. Operating system updates for virtual machines include updates for openjdk. |
|
4 |
Optional: Enable the Enhanced Access Security Gateway (EASG). |
EASG enables Avaya support engineers to access your Avaya Aura® Web Gateway and resolve product issues in real-time. If you use VMware vCenter or Solution Deployment Manager, you can enable EASG when deploying a virtual machine. If you use vSphere, you can enable EASG from the CLI. For more information about enabling EASG, see Enabling the Enhanced Access Security Gateway from the CLI. |
|
5 |
Optional: Configure UEFI Secure Boot settings. |
For security reasons, Avaya Aura® Web Gateway uses the UEFI Secure Boot feature by default. If required, you can configure the Secure Boot settings as described in Configuring UEFI Secure Boot for OVA-based virtual machines. |
|
6 |
Optional: Enable FIPS mode. |
You can only enable FIPS mode before installing the application layer. For information about enabling FIPS, see Enabling FIPS mode. |
|
7 |
Enable additional STIG hardening. |
You only need to enable additional hardening if your organization policies require full Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance. For more information about enabling additional STIG hardening, see Enabling additional STIG hardening. |
|
8 |
Install or restore the application layer as required. |
For information about installing the initial node, see Installing the Avaya Aura Web Gateway. For information about installing additional nodes, see Installing additional nodes to create a cluster. |
|
9 |
If you are installing a cluster, configure RSA keys for SSH connections after all additional nodes are installed. |
See Configuring RSA public and private keys for SSH connections in a cluster. |
|
After deploying a virtual machine, install the Avaya Aura® Web Gateway application as described in the Avaya Aura® Web Gateway setup
chapter.
