Last Updated : Mar 20, 2026 |

About this task

A message-only extension sends all incoming calls directly to voicemail. Admins with phone system permissions create a message-only extension in Admin Portal. You can assign local, toll-free, or vanity numbers to message-only extensions. A message-only extension uses an internal extension number to forward calls.
