Considerations for administering SIP parameters in an environment without Avaya Aura

Last Updated : Jun 05, 2026 |

In Avaya Aura® deployments, Avaya Aura® Device Services obtains SIP parameters, such as SIPDOMAIN or SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST, from System Manager and passes these parameters to SIP clients. Therefore, you do not need to configure these parameters manually. In an environment without Avaya Aura®, Avaya Aura® Device Services does not interact with System Manager and, therefore, cannot obtain SIP parameters automatically. If you use SIP clients in an environment without Avaya Aura® and use Avaya Aura® Device Services to provide configuration parameters to these clients, you must manually configure and publish SIP parameters required for these clients. You must:

  • Configure the required SIP parameters on the USER level.

  • Publish the parameters for each SIP account separately.

Note:

Different SIP clients require different SIP parameters. For more information about SIP parameters required for a SIP client, see the Administering document for this client.
