Password masking

For security reasons, Avaya Aura® Device Services does not display the actual values for configuration settings that represent passwords. Avaya Aura® Device Services hides the values for the following settings:

  • SIPPASSWORD

  • SSOPASSWORD

  • ESMPASSWORD

  • ACSPASSWORD

  • CESPASSWORD

  • DIRPASSWORD

  • PKCS12PASSWORD

  • SCEPPASSWORD

  • EWSPASSWORD

  • UNIFIED_PORTAL_PASSWORD

  • ADMIN_PASSWORD

  • AGENT_PASSWORD

  • FORCE_SIP_PASSWORD

  • SIPHA1

  • CESVMPIN

  • MYCERT_PASSWORD

  • MYCERT_CA_PASSWORD

  • DEBUG_REPORT_PASSWORD

  • PROCPSWD

  • Any custom parameters that are used as passwords.

After you set the values for these settings and save the configuration, Avaya Aura® Device Services displays the special value **************** both on the web administration portal and in the browser developer or inspect view.

In search results, Avaya Aura® Device Services displays password type settings as follows:

  • If a setting is editable, then Avaya Aura® Device Services does not display a specific value. If you want to save or publish a configuration, you must set the actual values for the required password type settings. Avaya Aura® Device Services notifies you about this by displaying a warning message at the top of the Configuration page.

  • If a setting is not editable, then Avaya Aura® Device Services displays the special value ****************. Non-editable settings are auto-discovered from other sources. Avaya Aura® Device Services displays these settings on the Discovered tab when you search settings for a user.
