Enabling the LDAP user deletion policy

Last Updated : Jun 05, 2026 |

About this task

You can configure Avaya Aura® Device Services to keep users deleted from LDAP in the internal database if the number of users deleted from LDAP since the last synchronization event exceeds a certain threshold. Avaya Aura® Device Services does not automatically delete these users from the internal database and prompts you to confirm or abort the user deletion.

The user deletion warning applies to all LDAP servers in your deployment. You cannot enable the warning for a specific LDAP server. The threshold value is the same for all LDAP servers in your deployment. However, the number of deleted users is tracked separately for each LDAP server.

The default threshold value is 50 users.

Procedure

  1. On the Avaya Aura® Device Services web administration portal, navigate to Server Connections > LDAP Configuration > Enterprise Directory.
  2. In the Hard/Soft Delete User Warning section, select the Enable Hard/Soft Delete warning check box.
  3. In the text box, specify an appropriate user deletion threshold.

The range is 1 to 100000.

  4. Click Save.

Avaya Aura® Device Services starts tracking the number of users deleted from LDAP servers since the previous synchronization event.
