Configuring expiration notifications for identity certificates

Last Updated : Jun 10, 2026 |

About this task

If an identity certificate expires, Avaya Aura® Device Services can no longer provide secure connections with browser clients. You can specify a number of days before the certificate expiry date when Avaya Aura® Device Services starts to generate certificate expiration notifications.

Avaya Aura® Device Services generates the following certificate expiration notifications:

  • A warning message on the Avaya Aura® Device Services web administration portal.

The following image shows a warning message example:

  • An alarm on System Manager or on other SNMP server configured in your deployment.

If a certificate expires, Avaya Aura® Device Services clears this alarm and generates the certificate expired alarm. After you renew the certificate, Avaya Aura® Device Services clears all certificate expiration alarms.

  • A log entry in the AADS_alarm.log file.

    Note:

For the detailed information about the certificate, see AADS_audit.log.

You cannot disable certificate expiration notifications.

Procedure

  1. On the Avaya Aura® Device Services web administration portal, navigate to Security Settings > Certificate Expiration.
  2. In Start to send certificate about to expire notification, type the required number of days before the certificate expiry date when you want to start receiving notifications.

The minimum value for this setting is one day. The maximum value for this setting is 366 days.

  3. Click Save.
