About this task

When you configure the RHEL 8.4 or RHEL 8.10 instance, AWS assigns the same security group to all network interfaces. After launching the RHEL 8.4 or RHEL 8.10 instance, you must assign the appropriate security group to the secondary eth1 interface.

Before you begin

Launch the RHEL 8.4 or RHEL 8.10 instance.

Procedure

  1. On the Amazon Web Services Management console, navigate to Services  > EC2  > Instances .
  2. Right-click the RHEL 8.4 or RHEL 8.10 instance that you created and then navigate to Security > Change security groups.
  3. In the Instance details area, in Network interface ID, select the network ID of the secondary eth1 network interface.
  4. In the Associated security groups area, click Remove for the security group assigned to the secondary network interface by default.
  5. In the Associated security groups area, select the Utility Server security group that you created from the security group list and then click Add security group.
