Considerations for geographically distributed systems

Last Updated : Jun 10, 2026 |

When you deploy a geographically distributed system, consider the following:

  • Users in a specific region resolve the Avaya Aura® Device Services cluster FQDN to a load balancer that is deployed in that region. The region-specific load balancer must be configured to route requests to the Avaya Aura® Device Services cluster FQDN to the Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes within that region only.

  • GSLB must route requests to the Avaya Aura® Device Services service port which is by default 443.

  • If you use the Utility Server on Avaya Aura® Device Services, you must use an additional external load balancer for the Utility Server virtual IP address.

  • On the Avaya Aura® Device Services administration portal, you must enable the use of an external load balancer. For details, see Administering Avaya Aura® Device Services.
