Creating a metadata file in Salesforce

Procedure

  1. At the top of the Salesforce home page, click the My Settings icon.
  2. In the pop-up window, click Setup.
  3. Go to Apps > App Manager.

    Salesforce displays the Lightning Experience App Manager page.

  4. Click New Connected App.
  5. In the Basic Information section, fill in the fields.
  6. In the Web App Settings section, select the Enable SAML check box and fill in the fields.
  7. Click Save.

    Salesforce displays the Lightning Experience App Manager page.

  8. Click the new connected application in the list and click Manage.
  9. In the SAML Login Information section, click Download Metadata.

    Salesforce downloads the metadata associated with the new connection application for SSO.
