Migrating a small primary and geo-redundant Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster to a large primary and geo-redundant Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster

Last Updated : Aug 31, 2024 |

About this task

You can resize the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway deployment from a small to a large profile cluster. You can then migrate the agents from the previous Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster to the newly resized Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster.

Note:

Avaya Cloud Delivery is responsible for resizing the clusters. You must contact Avaya Professional Services to update your Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway small profile cluster to a large profile cluster or for other requirements.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that the new Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster is deployed and running with the required profile size. For more information about the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway deployment, see Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway deployment and configuration.

    Note:

You can deploy the new Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster with the required profile size with the existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster without impacting the existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster.

  • Ensure that you deploy the new Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster using the same Avaya Aura® (Communication Manager, System Manager, and Session Manager) environment system and the same Hybrid Cloud Manager (HCM) address used by the existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster.

    Important:

During the linking of Communication Manager of Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway to the new cluster in Application Center Administration, there will be a downtime for the logged-in users or agents. Hence, it is advisable to plan a maintenance window for this activity.

  • Ensure that you log in to Application Center Administration as an account administrator where the Hybrid Voice feature is enabled.

  • Ensure that you appropriately set up the primary and geo-redundant Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway large profile.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, click Element Inventory.
  2. To change the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster, locate and click the Communication Manager element, which links to the small profile primary Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway element.
  3. From the Hybrid Cloud Gateway list, select the large profile primary Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway element.
  4. Click Save.

The new Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway starts servicing the agents.

  5. To failover to a large profile geo-redundant Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster, perform the following:
    1. Return to Element Inventory.
    2. To change the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster, locate and click the Communication Manager element, which links to the large profile primary Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway element.
    3. From the Hybrid Cloud Gateway list, select the large profile geo-redundant Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway element.
    4. Click Save.

The new Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway starts servicing the agents.
