Migrating agents between Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway clusters

Last Updated : Oct 27, 2023 |

About this task

You can migrate agents from one Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster to another Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster on the same Communication Manager.

You can migrate agents for any of the following scenarios:

  • The existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster is on a lower VM profile that cannot handle the new capacity.

  • The existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster is out of service.

  • You do not use the existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster anymore and plan to add another Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster to the same tenant.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you configure a minimum of one Communication Manager element and one Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway element for the account.

  • Ensure to log in to Application Center Administration as an account administrator.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, click Element Inventory.

You can view the existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster in the right pane. For example, cluster 1.

  2. Create another Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster. For example, cluster 2.

For more information about creating an Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster, see Configuring the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway element.

After you create the second cluster, you can view two Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway clusters on the Elements page.

  3. To assign cluster 2 of Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway to the existing Communication Manager element, do the following:
    1. On the Elements page, click the existing Communication Manager element.
    2. From the Hybrid Cloud Gateway list, select cluster 2 of Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway.
    3. Click Save.

Cluster 2 of Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway links to the existing Communication Manager element.

If agents are logged into Avaya Workspaces when you migrate from one cluster to another cluster, the current Avaya Workspaces session continues until the agent logs out. The changes take effect when the agent logs in again.

    Note:

You do not need to modify any users or voice plan for the changes to take effect.
