Sample chat application

Last Updated : Sep 05, 2023 |

Avaya has developed a sample chat application that uses the out-of-the-box chat SDK. Customers can deploy it over Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) to ensure that interactions are secure. The application supports verified and unverified users. Before accessing chat, verified users provide credentials, such as an email address and a username.

In the sample chat application, customers can customize a wide variety of parameters associated with the appearance of the Chat widget. The parameters include logos, colors, text, emojis, and advanced settings. For example, customers can configure the settings that determine whether to pass context information to agents for routing purposes.

Chat session text persists during a browser fail, loss of network connection, or if a user accidentally closes the chat browser window. This persistence eliminates the need to start a new chat session and means that they can click the chat icon again to resume the existing chat session. This capability supports authenticated and unauthenticated users.
