Dialing rules are an important configuration of the Avaya Experience Platform™ (On-Prem + Connect) deployment. On the original number that an agent dials from Avaya Workspaces, dialing rules are automatically applied and prefixed with different codes as applicable. Avaya Aura® uses the newly formed number to evaluate how to route the call. For example:
Internal calls
Local calls
Long distance calls
International calls
If the administrator does not configure and import the dialing rules in Avaya Aura® Device Services, Avaya Aura® does not route the outgoing call correctly, resulting in failure.
If the customer does not want to configure the dialing rules, the Avaya Workspaces agent must have complete knowledge about dialing the full number, and the different codes prefixed to the number as applicable. To avoid this overhead, configure and import the dialing rules in Avaya Aura® Device Services.
