Sending a chat message to Avaya Cloud Office contacts

About this task

You can send chat messages to Avaya Cloud Office™ contacts in a one-to-one chat or a group chat from the Chats tab. You can have a one-to-one chat with an available Avaya Cloud Office™ contact. You can send group chat messages only to the chat groups that contacted you. If you have unread chat messages, you can see a red dot next to the Chats tab name and the unread chat.

You can send plain text messages, format the text as bold, italics, underscore, strikethrough, and add links. You can receive plain text, rich text content, and emojis. You cannot edit and delete chat messages. However, you can see if an Avaya Cloud Office™ contact edited a message.

Procedure

  1. On the Corporate Contacts widget, do one of the following:
    • On the Chats tab, search for the contact or the chat group.

    • On the Users tab, search for the contact.

    • On the Groups tab, select the Avaya Cloud Office™ group and search for the group member.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • On the Chats tab, click the contact name.

    • On the Users or Groups tab, next to the contact, click the Chat icon.

  3. In the chat pane, type your message and click the Send icon.
  4. Optional To switch to a different chat, on the Chats tab, click the name of the contact or chat group.
