If the account administrator enables the chat functionality, you can perform the following actions:
Search for chats.
Send messages in one-to-one and group chats from the Chats tab.
You can have a one-to-one chat with an available Microsoft Teams contact. You can send group chat messages only to the chat groups that contacted you.
Start conversations in a channel and reply to messages in conversations from the Groups tab.
You can send messages in a channel conversation only to the members of the channel. You cannot manage the users in a channel, the Microsoft Teams administrator creates and manages channels.
You can send plain and rich text and images from the clipboard from the Chats and Groups tabs. You can zoom in a sent image by clicking it and download it. You can receive plain text, attachments, emojis, rich text content, and images, including GIFs.
