Adding an SNMP trap receiver

About this task

Add an SNMP manager that receives traps from the AE Services server.

Procedure

  1. On the AE Services management console, go to Utilities > SNMP > SNMP Trap Receivers.
  2. On the SNMP Trap Receivers page, click Add.
  3. Optional To disable an SNMP trap receiver, on the Add SNMP Trap page, clear the Enable check box.

    By default, the check box is selected.

  4. Optional In Device, select a device to receive SNMP traps.
  5. In IP Address, type the IP address of the SNMP device.
  6. In Port, type a port number for the SNMP device.
  7. In Notification Type, select the SNMP notification type.
  8. In SNMP Version, select the SNMP version that is appropriate for your network.
  9. In Security Name, specify the user for generating SNMP notifications.
  10. In Authentication protocol, select an authentication protocol algorithm.
  11. In Authentication Password, type a password for the authentication protocol.
  12. In Confirm Password, retype the authentication password.
  13. In Privacy protocol, select a privacy protocol for the SNMP version 3 security encryption.
  14. In Privacy Password, type a password for the privacy protocol.
  15. In Confirm Password, retype the privacy password.
  16. Click Apply Changes.
