Adding network locations

Last Updated : Apr 21, 2022 |

About this task

Add a network location for endpoints and configure the related settings. The contact center maps endpoints with matching IP addresses to the corresponding network location.

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Server web portal, go to Administration > System > Network Locations.
  2. At the top-right corner of the Network Locations screen, click the Add icon.
  3. On the top half of the Add Network Location screen, in Name, type the network location name.

You can type a maximum of 35 Unicode characters.

  4. In Description, type a short description of the network location.

You can type a maximum of 50 Unicode characters.

  5. In Station Admin Password, enter the code that the administrator must enter to access the Administration menu on the endpoint.

You can type a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 32 digits from 0 to 9.

  6. Optional To enable VLAN tagging and set a unique number for VLAN identification across multiple endpoints, do the following:
    1. Select the VLAN ID check box.
    2. In entry field, type a value from 0 to 4,094.
  7. In Agent Profile, select one of the agent profiles configured on the Agent Profiles screen.

The contact center uses this agent profile if an endpoint within this network location does not have an assigned agent profile. You can assign specific agent profiles to endpoints on the Endpoints screen.

  8. In the Quality of Service Parameters section, configure the required settings.

The service quality parameters determine the priority of different types of packets for SIP traffic. For example, if you set Call Control PHB to a value higher than Audio PHB, the contact center sends call control packets first if the network bandwidth is low.

  9. In the IP Address Patterns section, in IP, type an IP address to map endpoints to this network location.

You can type a specific IP address, such as 10.10.10.10, or a range of IP addresses. For example, 10.10.10.*.

  10. Click Add New IP Address.
  11. Optional To add more IP addresses for your network location, repeat steps 9 to 10.
  12. Click the RTCP subtab and configure the required settings.
  13. Click the Audio Codecs subtab and configure the required settings.
  14. Click the SRTP subtab and configure the required settings.
  15. At the top-right corner of the screen, click Commit.

The Configuration Server saves the network location configuration and redirects you to the Network Locations screen.
