Adding an ANNOUNCEMENT vector step

About this task

To play an announcement to a caller when a call is on hold or in a queue, add an announcement as the first vector step. You must specify an announcement, a vector, or a VDN variable configured for the announcement. You can configure VDN and vector variables on the Vector Variables and Vector Directory Numbers screens of the Contact Center tab.

If the specified announcement is not available, the contact center skips the announcement step. When an announcement step follows an adjunct step, Avaya Contact Center – Extended Capacity interrupts the announcement as soon as the adjunct application receives a response to the Adjunct Route Request message.

Before you begin

Ensure that you added an announcement.

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Server web portal, go to Administration > Contact Center > Vectors.
  2. At the top-right corner of the Vectors screen, click the Add icon.

    The Configuration Server displays the vector configuration fields.

  3. On the top half of the screen, configure the required fields.
  4. On the bottom half of the screen, in the drop-down box on the left of the row, select announcement.
  5. In the next drop-down box, select the required announcement.

    You can select the specified announcement or an announcement defined in a VDN or vector variable. You can configure VDN and vector variables on the Vector Directory Numbers and Vector Variables screens of the Contact Center tab.

  6. Optional Configure the required vector steps.
  7. At the top-right corner of the screen, click Commit.

    The Configuration Server saves the vector configuration and redirects you to the Vectors screen.
