Defaulting the Base Station

About this task

This process will default a base station or IP DECT Gateway, erasing its configuration. After the unit restarts it will default to the IP address 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0.
Note:

The following instructions assume you are installing an IPBS2/IPBS3, which has one LED lamp. The IPBS1 has two LED lamps. For more information on the base station LEDs and what their statuses indicate, see Base Station Status Lamps.

Procedure

  1. With only the power supply connected, switch the base station on.

    The LED on the base station flashes red if no Ethernet is detected.

  2. Wait approximately five seconds.
  3. Press and hold the Reset button on the base station for approximately 10 seconds..

    The LED on the base station will change to a quick flash, then the LED will go out, and then the LED returns to a slower flash.

  4. Release the Reset button and wait for the base station to reset.

    The LED should turn back on to solid amber.

  5. Quickly press the Reset button once.

    The base station reboots with default settings. The default IP is 192.168.0.1, with DHCP on, but not active. If you wish to activate DHCP reset the base station again.

    Note:

    Avaya recommends disabling the DHCP on the base station and configuring the system with static IP addresses. For information on disabling DHCP on the base station, see Set the Base Station IP Address.
