Mapping the virtual machine’s DVD to the local PC drive (vSphere desktop client)

Procedure

Insert the DVD into the PC's DVD drive.
Using the vSphere client, select the Inventory view.
Locate the required virtual machine in the inventory navigation tree on the left. If not shown, select View > Show VMs in Inventory
Click on the virtual machine.
Click on the Connect/disconnect the CD/DVD device of the virtual machine icon in the toolbar.
- If already connected to a source, the details are shown and the option to disconnect. Select disconnect and then click the icon again.
From the drop-down, select CD/DVD and then select the appropriate drive letter for the PC drive containing the DVD.
