  • Logging into Avaya Workplace Client logs the user off any other extension.

  • Logging onto another phone logs them out of Avaya Workplace Client.

Advanced

This is the fully featured mode of Avaya Workplace Client operation.

  • It supports Windows, macOS, Android and iOS clients.

IP Office Simultaneous Mode

This mode allows a user to use multiple telephony devices at the same time. For example, the user can simultaneously log in on both a physical desk phone and Avaya Workplace Client. See Simultaneous Mode Devices.

Hidden Mode (Agent Mode)

This mode is used for users who control their telephone calls through another application but still use the Avaya Workplace Client as the audio connection. See Disabling local notifications.

This Computer

In this mode, the client makes and answers calls on the client device, including the call audio and video.

Shared Control (Desk Phone)

In this mode, the client is used to make and answer calls on the user's associated IP Office desk phone. See Workplace Shared Control Mode

Other Phone Mode (Telecommuter)

In this mode, the user specifies the number of another phone to use as the audio path for their calls.

  • Making a call from the client causes the IP Office to call that other phone and, when answered, then make a call to the number dialed.

  • Incoming calls to the user are redirected to the other number to be answered on that phone.

Workplace Client (VDI)

This mode uses two clients, one installed on the local PC and the other on the user's virtual VDI desktop. The local client is used for call audio whilst the virtual desktop client is used for call control and other features. See Avaya Workplace Client VDI Support.

  • Power User or Unified Communications User license only.
