Direct IP Office Avaya Workplace Client connection

Last Updated : Oct 23, 2024 |

About this task

Use this process for installations where Avaya Cloud Services is not being used. In this scenario, the Avaya Workplace Client user enters the address of the IP Office system's 46xxsettings.txt file. The user is prompted to register directly with the IP Office system using their extension number and password.

This process is common to all the client operating systems. If during this initial configuration, the operating system or installed virus checker prompts whether to allow the application, select that option.

Procedure

  1. Start the Avaya Workplace Client application.
  2. Select Configure my account.
  3. Click on the Settings settings icon and select Use web address.
  4. Enter the communication system's FQDN, prefixed with https:// and followed by /46xxsettings.txt
    • It will look something like https://<serveraddress>/46xxsettings.txt. Do not use the system's numeric IP address.

  5. Click Next and wait whilst the application fetches the information it needs from your communication system.
  6. The next steps depend on whether the system has been configured for Avaya Cloud Authorization (see Enabling Avaya Cloud authorization):
    • If the Access everything from one account menu appears:

      1. Select the type of account you want to use to login and enter the details. Otherwise, enter your email address and click Get Started.

      2. The Avaya Workplace Client login menu appears briefly and then disappears as you are logged in.

    • If the Avaya Workplace Client login menu appears and stays visible:

      1. Enter your extension number.

      2. Enter your user password. This is the same password as you use for the user portal (self-administration).

      3. Click Sign In.
