During registration, the Avaya Workplace Client requests a 46xxsettings.txt file from the IP Office system. This contains a range of settings that control how the client will operate. This is either an 46xxsettings.txt file auto-generated by the IP Office system when requested or a static file that you have uploaded to the IP Office.
Using the auto-generated file is recommended as its contents automatically change to match the configuration of the IP Office system.
You can change or override the contents of the auto-generated 46xxsettings.txt file when required:
NoUser Source Numbers
You can add special values to the IP Office system configuration as NoUser source numbers. These add additional values to the 46xxsettings.txt file. See Avaya Workplace Client NoUser Source Numbers.
46xxspecials.txt File
For IP Office R11.1.2.4 and higher, the IP Office supports using a 46xxspecials.txt with Avaya Workplace Client. When present on the IP Office system, after requesting the 46xxsettings.txt file the client will request the 46xxspecials.txt file. This allows you to add additional settings whilst still using the auto-generated 46xxspecials.txt file.
For details of settings file operation, refer to the IP Office SIP Telephone Installation Notes manual.
