Downloading the root certificate from Avaya Aura System Manager

About this task

A default root certificate can be generated when Avaya Aura® System Manager is being installed. This section covers how to download and install the default root certificate or any other CA certificate that is loaded in System Manager. System Manager uses a third-party open source application called Enterprise Java Beans Certificate Authority (EJBCA). EJBCA acts as a Certificate Authority for certificate management.

Note:

  • If you are using System Manager as Certificate Authority (CA) for Avaya Oceana® and Avaya Aura® applications, then the certificate used in the following instructions is the System Manager Root Certificate or CA Certificate.

  • If you are using an enterprise or third-party Certificate Authority (CA) and not System Manager as the CA, then the certificate used in the following instructions is the root certificate of the enterprise or third-party CA. The root certificate for the enterprise or third-party CA is obtained from the enterprise or third-party CA and not from System Manager. For more information, consult the enterprise or third-party CA administrator.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Avaya Aura® System Manager using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to Services > Security > Certificates > Authority.
  3. On the EJBCA Administration page, on the left pane, click Public Web.

    The system displays Welcome to the public EJBCA pages.

  4. On the public EJBCA screen, on the left pane, in the Retrieve section, click Fetch CA certificates.
  5. To download the certificate, choose any of the following:

    • Download as PEM - To download the certificate .pem file.

    • Download to Firefox - To install the certificate in the certificate manager of Firefox browser.

    • Download to Internet Explorer - To install the certificate on a Windows machine containing Microsoft Internet Explorer, Edge, and Chrome browsers.
