Taking a backup of the Omnichannel database from a network location

About this task

Use this procedure to take a backup of the Omnichannel database from a network location.

Note:

Ensure that the network location you select for taking the backup has enough free space for saving a backup file.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Omnichannel server.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • For Avaya Oceana® 3.5.x or 3.6, go to the OCEANA_INSTALL_DIR\Avaya\Oceana\Oceana\BackupAndRestore folder.

    • For Avaya Oceana® 3.7 or later, go to the OCEANA_INSTALL_DIR\Avaya\Oceana\MMDataManagement folder.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • For Avaya Oceana® 3.5.x or 3.6, right-click the BackupAndRestore.exe file and select Run as Administrator.

    • For Avaya Oceana® 3.7 or later, double-click the OceanaDataManagementTool.exe file.

  4. In the Oceana Data Management utility, click Backup and Restore.
  5. In the navigation pane, click Backup and Restore.
  6. In the Select/create file to backup to > Network details section, select the Is this a protected network drive? check box.

    Additional fields for username, password, and drive are displayed.

  7. In Username, enter the username for the network folder.
  8. In Password, enter the password for the network folder.
  9. In Drive, select a drive to be used to substitute the network location.
    Important:

    You must select a drive that is not already used.

    Note:

    If you use a local drive for backup, clear the Is this a protected network drive ? check box.
