Viewing contact status in Oceana Data Viewer for Messaging HA

Last Updated : Apr 07, 2021 |

About this task

The Messaging page of the Oceana Data Viewer provides an option to save Messaging contacts before reboot. Thus, the MessagingConnector enables or disables incoming contacts.

Important:

If the administrator wants to restart the cluster and there are Messaging contacts that are not in a closed state, they must select a Save Contacts option in the Oceana Data Viewer that saves the contents of the contacts. When you restart Avaya Oceana®, the contacts are re-routed to the available agents. Saving incoming contacts is a mandatory step before any planned reboot to allow contact data preservation.

Procedure

  1. In your web browser, enter the following URL to view the Oceana Data Viewer page:

    https://<Cluster IP>/services/OceanaDataViewer/ocp/home.html

  2. On the authentication screen, do the following:
    1. In the Username field, enter the LDAP username of the Administrator agent as configured on the Users page on Avaya Control Manager.
    2. In the Password field, enter the password of the agent.
    3. Click SIGN IN.
  3. On the Oceana Data Viewer page, click Messaging.
  4. Click Save Contacts.

The background color of the Save Contacts button reflects the current status of incoming contacts:

    • Green: Accept incoming contacts.

    • Red: Do not accept incoming contacts.

If incoming contacts are enabled, and you click Save Contacts, then:

    • The database saves all Messaging contact transcripts.

    • The MessagingConnector closes incoming contacts.

If incoming contacts are disabled, and you click Save Contacts, the MessagingConnector allows incoming contacts.
