About this task
Configure the maximum number of days that Engagement Designer (ED) and Work Assignment can retain active messaging contacts.
The default ED timeout value is 3 days. The default Work Assignment timeout value is 604800000 milliseconds, equivalent to 7 days. You can configure both of these values to retain active messaging contacts for a longer period. Avaya recommends configuring these timeout values to the same number of days. The maximum value for both is 24 days.

Note:
The maximum number of queued messaging contacts supported by Avaya Oceana® is a fixed limit. If you extend the maximum number of days that ED and Work Assignment can retain active messaging contacts, the maximum number of queued messaging limit can be reached before the increased retention time expires. For more information about the supported maximum number of queued messaging contacts, see Capacity specifications.
