Creating a virtual server authorization rule

About this task

Use this procedure for adding a rule to enable the virtual server for authorization to allocate requests to the correct pool based on the Avaya Oceana® AuthorizationService.

Procedure

  1. On the Virtual Traffic web admin interface, click Services > Virtual Servers > <Your Virtual Server for authorization>.
  2. Click Rules.
  3. In the Request Rules area, click Manage Rules in Catalog.
  4. In the Create new rule area, do the following:
    1. In the Name field, enter a name for the rule.
    2. Select Use RuleBuilder.
    3. Select the check box beside the Create Rule button to associate the rule with your virtual server for authorization.
    4. Click Create Rule.
  5. In the navigation pane on the right, click the Conditions tab and click HTTP only.
  6. Click URL Path.
  7. In the URL Path field, select starts with and add the URL for authorization, /services/CustomerManagement/.
  8. In the navigation pane on the right, click the Actions tab.
  9. In the Requests Only area, click Choose Pool.
  10. In Actions - Choose Pool, select the pool that you create for authorization.
  11. Click Update.
  12. Click Services > Virtual Servers > <Your Virtual Server for authorization> to return to the Virtual Server configuration page.

    The Pulse Secure virtual server is now configured to proxy all external agent requests to the internal Avaya Oceana® clusters/servers.
