Creating virtual server rules

About this task

Use this procedure for adding rules to enable the virtual server to allocate requests to the correct pool based on the URLs on the requests.

Procedure

  1. On the Virtual Traffic web admin interface, click Services > Virtual Servers > <Your Virtual Server>.
  2. Click Rules.
  3. In the Request Rules area, click Manage Rules in Catalog.
  4. In the Create new rule area, do the following:
    1. In the Name field, enter a name for the rule.
    2. Select Use RuleBuilder.
    3. Select the check box beside the Create Rule button to associate the rule with your virtual server.
    4. Click Create Rule.
  5. In the navigation pane on the right, click the Conditions tab, and then click HTTP only.
  6. Click URL Path.
  7. In the URL Path field, select starts with and add the Avaya Oceana® Cluster 1 URL, /services/CustomerManagement/.
  8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 to add the following Avaya Oceana® Cluster 1 URLs:
    • /services/OCPDataServices/

    • /services/CustomerJourneyService/

  9. In the navigation pane on the right, click the Actions tab.
  10. In the Requests Only area, click Choose Pool.
  11. In Actions - Choose Pool, select the pool that you create for Avaya Oceana® Cluster 1.
  12. Click Update.
  13. Click Services > Virtual Servers > <Your Virtual Server> to return to the Virtual Server configuration page.
  14. Repeat Steps 2 to 13 for each Avaya Oceana® cluster/server that you configure in the pool.
