The EDM can be deployed in one of the following supported configurations:

• Standalone EDM non-DB HA: EDM is deployed alone on one SQL Server.

• Standalone EDM DB HA: EDM is deployed alone on two SQL Servers.

Avaya Oceana® supports High Availability (HA) of Context Store External Data Mart (EDM) in the standalone deployment. The standalone deployment specifies that you use Microsoft SQL Server Standard Edition and Windows AlwaysOn Basic Availability Group (BAG) to deploy EDM on Microsoft SQL Server without Avaya Control Manager databases.

The EDM DB HA through BAG has some limitations compared to AAG. For example, Microsoft does not support Backup on a secondary replica for BAG.
