Configuring DC1 as a Geo Primary

About this task

Use this procedure to configure the Geo configuration options for DC1 as a Geo Primary from the Analytics scripts utility. You can perform this procedure during maintenance window.

Note:

Perform this procedure if you are upgrading from version older than Avaya Analytics™ 4.2.

Before you begin

Ensure that Avaya Analytics™ 4.3.1.1 is installed on DC2.

After performing this procedure, a backup job is started. Wait for the backup job to complete and then only proceed.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Cluster Control Manager (CCM) console as the customer user.
  2. Switch to being the root user by entering the command su.
  3. Do the following to configure DC1 as primary:
    1. Run the following command:

      ccm release orca analytics

    2. To select Geo/High Availability, enter the corresponding number.
    3. To select Geo Options, enter the corresponding number.
    4. To select Configure Primary Geo cluster, enter the corresponding number.
    5. Enter CCM IP address of the Geo Standby cluster (DC2).
    6. Enter the username to login to CCM of the Geo Standby cluster (DC2).
    7. Enter the password to login to CCM of the Geo Standby cluster (DC2) and click Enter.
      Note:

      Note the IP address and PV name. The script takes some time to run and return IP address and PV name You must use this IP address and PV name for configuring the standby data center. Wait for the backup job to complete and then proceed to configure the standby. After the primary configuration is complete, a backup job starts automatically. Wait for the backup job to complete before proceeding.
