Before you begin

Verify that you have created a recording server as described in Configuring a recording server.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the EMS web interface with administrator credentials.
  2. From the Device menu, click the SBC name to administer.
  3. Navigate to Configuration Profiles > Recording Profile.
  4. Click Add.

The system displays the Recording Profile window.

  5. Enter a name for the policy.
  6. Click Next.

The system displays the Recording Profile window.

  7. Administer the following options:
    • Select the Call Termination on Recording Failure option if you want the system to terminate the main call if any of the multiple recording sessions fail.

    • Select the Play Recording Tone option if you want the system to play a tone when recording starts.

  8. Do one of the following:
    • If you do not want to add more profiles to this recording server, click Finish. You can add profiles later by clicking Edit for any administered recording server.

    • If you want to add more profiles to this recording server, click Add and continue with this procedure.

      Note:

You are not required to create multiple recording profiles to use the multiple simultaneous SIPREC recording feature.

  9. Administer the following options:
    • In the Routing Profile drop-down, select the profile you want to use for this recording server. Routing profiles are defined in Adding a routing profile.

    • In the Recording Type drop-down, decide whether you want selective recording or full-time recording.

When using full-time recording, every communication session established using Avaya SBC is recorded by Avaya SBC end to end. When using selective recording, a portion of the communication session shall be recorded as the recording server cuts through the media stream.

    • The Video Recording option is not enabled in this release.

  10. Click Finish.

The system displays the administered profiles for the selected recording server.
