You can add a blacklist rule to prevent Avaya SBC from accepting data from specific IP addresses. Apart from the IPs listed in black list, all other IPs are allowed. You can set up whitelist rules for specific IP addresses to avoid any checks for IPs in that list. In the firewall settings, you can change the number of connections initiated per second for a particular service and prevent DoS attacks. Avaya SBC whitelist does not block traffic from other IPs except blacklisted IPs.
Note:
The customer is responsible for the security checks associated with whitelisted IPs.
Procedure
Log in to the EMS web interface with administrator credentials.
On the Device menu, click SBC.
Navigate to DMZ Services > Firewall.
On the Blacklist tab, click Add.
Enter the required information in the appropriate fields and click Finish.
Result
The EMS server creates a blacklist rule based on the specified IP addresses and ports. According to the blacklist rules, Avaya SBC blocks data received from the source IP address and data sent to the destination IP address.
