Restoring from a snapshot will irreversibly overwrite all existing data. Take note of the following restrictions before restoring from a snapshot:

• Restoration procedures must be completed only during times of relative EMS server inactivity or during scheduled periods of maintenance.

• Avaya SBC detection or mitigation features are unavailable for the entire duration of the restore procedure, making the EMS and Avaya SBC single server deployment vulnerable to intrusions and attacks.

• A snapshot can only be restored to the same version of the same EMS in the same hardware category. Consult the table for more information on hardware categories.

• If the EMS management IP in the snapshot differs from the current management IP, the EMS must be manually restarted to pick up the new management IP.

• During both methods, EMS goes into the offline mode when the files are being transferred and the device is being reconfigured.

• All devices currently registered or commissioned in the snapshot will be disconnected from the EMS. These devices must be reconfigured to resume operation.

• All devices in the snapshot (and the EMS in a single server deployment) will be rebooted after the restore completes.

• All current incidents will be archived to disk and all alarms will be cleared.
