Adding an HTTP proxy

About this task

You can add a new HTTP Proxy to configure the details and enable them for use within the system.

Multiple proxies can be administered. If more than one proxy is administered, the first accessible proxy in the list will be used.

Procedure

  1. On the System Manager web console, click Services > Security.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Configuration > HTTP Proxy.

    System Manager displays HTTP Proxy Configuration.

  3. In the HTTP Proxy Configuration, under the HTTP Proxy Configuration Data, click Add.

    System Manager displays Add HTTP Proxy Configuration Data.

  4. In the Add HTTP Proxy Configuration Data, under HTTP Proxy Config Data, enter or select the following information:
    1. In Proxy Name, enter a unique proxy name. For example, Proxy1.
    2. In FQDN/IP Address, enter a valid FQDN or IP Address. For example, 10.129.179.83.
    3. In Port Number, enter a valid port number. For example, 3130.
    4. In Proxy Connection Type, select HTTP.
    5. In Proxy Authentication Method, select either NONE or BASIC.
      Note:

      For Proxy Authentication Method, if you select BASIC, enter Username and Password.

  5. Click Commit.

    An HTTP Proxy is created.
