Configuring SAML element and downloading the metadata XML file

About this task

To use the on-premise Active Directory (AD) with Avaya Experience Platform™ (On-Prem + Connect), configure the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) element using the Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS) federation metadata file. You can then download the metadata XML file to import in ADFS.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you configure Active Directory with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).

  • Download the metadata file provided by your ADFS server. For example: https://<your-adfs-server-url>/federationmetadata/2007-06/federationmetadata.xml.

  • Ensure to log in to Application Center Administration as an account administrator.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, click Element Inventory.
  2. On the Elements page, click New > SAML.
  3. On the SAML Server page, type the server name in the Name field.
  4. In the Display Name field, type the display name for the server.
  5. In the MetaData File section, click Select XML File to browse and select the federation metadata file.
  6. To upload the metadata file, click Upload.
  7. Select the following check boxes:
    • HTTP-POST Binding Response

    • HTTP-POST Binding for AuthnRequest

    • Want AuthnRequests Signed

    • Want Assertions Signed

  8. Click Save.
  9. Navigate to the Element Inventory page and select the configured SAML element.
  10. Click the Three Dots icon available at the right of the SAML element row, and click Download metadata as XML file.
  11. Save the metadata XML file to your computer.
