Editing a phone number

About this task

Depending on your configuration, you can assign a display name to a number to update the number configuration. The customers can see the display name instead of digits for incoming calls from this number. You can also select a caller ID that the contact center displays for all outbound calls.

Before you begin

Log in to Application Center Administration as an account administrator.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, click Channels > Voice.
  2. On the My Numbers page, for the number to update, click the Three Dots icon and then click Edit.
  3. In the Update Number pane, in the Display Name field, type the name for the number.
  4. Select Caller ID.

    If you do not select a caller ID, the contact center displays all outbound calls as anonymous, including calls to corporate contacts from Avaya Aura X for Avaya Cloud Office (ACO) and other collaboration platforms.

  5. Click Save.
