Interaction types

Last Updated : May 27, 2022 |

In Automation, an interaction is a single act of communication with the respondent.

In the interaction-related section, you can choose an interaction type and set up the main settings for the selected interactions, for example, an order of interactions. Add at least one interaction to your flow.

Automation has the following interaction types:

  • Announcements: Automation does not require any user input.

  • Questions: Automation prompts the respondent to answer. The response format depends on the question type that you select.

Automation has the following question types:

Question type

Description

True/False

A question that requires a choice between two options. For example, Yes or No. For each option, you can assign a tag, which simplifies the further use and analysis of the answer.

Date

A question that requires a date as an answer. You can select a date pattern and a time range.

Digits

A question that requires a number of a certain length as an answer. You determine the minimum and maximum length of the number. You can use this question type, for example, to collect a customer ID.

Range

A question that requires to specify a number from a predefined range.

Options

A question that has from 3 up to 11 possible answer options. For each option, you can assign a tag, which simplifies the further use and analysis of the answer. You can use this question type, for example, to collect the Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT).

To choose the correct question types for your flow, you must know what attributes to collect. Depending on the type of answer required, select the most appropriate question type. For example, if you need to receive a phone number of the respondent for customer identification, select Digits as the most appropriate question type.
