Creating a dynamic date filter for scheduled reports

Last Updated : Nov 27, 2024 |

About this task

When you create a scheduled report, such as a Daily report, the report displays data for the day on which it was created. However, the Daily report must display updated data for the latest date.

To resolve this issue, you can create a dynamic date filter for your custom scheduled reports.

Note:

When you create the custom report and dynamic date filter, ensure that you create and save the report and the filter in the My Reports or the Custom Reports folder.

Complete the following steps to create a dynamic date filter and apply this filter to a custom scheduled report:

Procedure

  1. Log in to Analytics for Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud.
  2. Click Historical Reporting.
  3. On the Home page, in the navigation pane, click My Reports.
  4. Click Create  > New Filter.
  5. Navigate to the Quarter Hours folder and do one of the following:
    • To create a filter for daily reports, double-click the Date attribute.

    • To create a filter for interval reports, double-click the Interval Timestamp attribute.

  6. To create a dynamic filter:
    1. To qualify, select the Qualify option.
    2. From the Operator list, select Between.
    3. In the Date field, delete the existing date.
    4. Click The Calendar icon and click Switch to dynamic date.
    5. From the Today list, select minus and change the number of days to 1.
    6. Clear the Apply additional adjustments check box.
    7. Click OK.
  7. Repeat substeps d to g in the previous step to create a second dynamic date filter.

The filter string displays the following:

    Date (ID) Between "Today minus 1 Day(s) (<Current date><Current time>)" AND "Today minus 1 Day(s) (<Current date><Current time>)"

    For example:

    Date (ID) Between "Today minus 1 Day(s) (1/31/24 12:00 AM)" AND "Today minus 1 Day(s) (1/31/24 12:00 AM)"

  8. Click Apply.
  9. To create a custom Daily report, on the Historical Reporting dashboard, click Shared Reports > Standard Historical Reports > Reports > Daily.
  10. Click the corresponding Edit option of the report.
  11. To delete the existing date prompt, click the Cancel icon.
  12. To assign the dynamic date filter to the custom Daily report, from the ALL OBJECTS list, select the new dynamic date filter to integrate it with the custom Daily report.

The custom Daily report successfully displays updated information for the latest date.
