About this task

You can convert an added mailbox to a Microsoft 365 mailbox. When updating the mailbox configuration, you cannot change the mailbox name, email address, and the protocol used for incoming emails.

Important:

You can convert an added mailbox to only a mailbox that is managed by a Microsoft 365 tenant with an Azure Active Directory.

Before you begin

  • Add a mailbox.

  • Disable the added mailbox.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, click Channels > Email.
  2. On the Email Mailboxes page, for the mailbox to edit, click the Three Dots icon and then click Edit.
  3. On the mailbox page, in the Single Sign-On Provider list, select Microsoft.
  4. Update the mailbox configuration as required.
  5. To connect to the Microsoft 365 mail server, click Save and Connect.
  6. In the Sign in window, type your Microsoft 365 mailbox credentials and click Sign In.

If you sign in to the Microsoft 365 account for the first time, you can see the Approval required window. You must submit the approval request, save the mailbox configuration, and resume configuring after your IT department approves the request.

You can see the Connection is successful notification.

  7. To test the connection to the mailbox, click Test Connection.

If the contact center connects to the mailbox, you can see the Success status. If the connection status is Error, you need to reconfigure the mailbox.

  8. Click Save.

Next Steps

Enable the mailbox.
