Adding context data rules

About this task

Add context data rules to route voice, messaging, chat, or social channel interactions with certain received key-value pair data to a queue or trigger a workflow. You cannot save the added rule if the total number of characters in the key-value pair fields for the rule condition exceeds 255.

Important:

You must select a queue or assign attributes to the rule. If you do not select the queue or attributes, you cannot assign that rule in the channel routing configuration.

Before you begin

Log in to Application Center Administration as an account administrator.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, click Business Rules > Context Data Rule.
  2. On the Context Data Rules page, click Add Rule.
  3. On the New Context Rule page, fill in the fields.
  4. Click Save.
