You can use the Quiet Space feature to reduce unwanted background noise that the microphone picks up during a call. Quiet Space uses the handsfree microphone to monitor the ambient noise level in the environment and performs a noise gating function to suppress the background noise. Avaya Vantage™ supports the Quiet Space feature on RJ9 and 3.5mm wired headsets, and the wired handset.
By default, the Quiet Space feature is disabled on Avaya Vantage™. You can enable the feature from the Settings menu. Your administrator can configure the Quiet Space feature and set the attenuation of the background noise. By default, the attenuation level is set to the lowest. To change the attenuation level of the background noise, contact your administrator. When the feature is enabled, based on the attenuation level configured, the TX audio quality improves.
Avaya Vantage™ also supports the changing of the Quiet Space configurations and attenuation level during an ongoing call. These changes take effect instantly.
Note:
Avaya Vantage™ does not apply the Quiet Space feature when headset bi-directional signaling is enabled for RJ9 headsets.
