Multiple Session Manager support for Avaya SBC in Remote Worker deployment

Last Updated : Apr 25, 2023 |

After Avaya SBC installation, Avaya SBC is ready for configuration and is available for administration through the web console.

Avaya SBC must be configured with one-to-one mapping of signaling and media interfaces. Signaling and media interface configuration is explained in the following sections.

The network configuration must have a unique set of external and internal IP addresses on Avaya SBC corresponding to the primary and secondary Session Manager.

Note:

Avaya SBC supports only two Session Managers. Ensure that the Management interface, or the IP used to access GUI, is not in the same subnet as the internal or external interface.

The following sections describe how to use Avaya SBC in a multiple Session Manager environment.

Note:

In the following sections:

  • The IP address on Avaya SBC towards the internet is referred to as an external address.

  • The IP address on Avaya SBC towards the core network or call server is referred to as an internal address.

Single Avaya SBC connected to two Session Managers

In the following scenario, the phones in the network maintain two socket connections to Avaya SBC, at two different IP addresses hosted by Avaya SBC:

  • One socket for traffic to primary Session Manager 1

  • Second socket for traffic to secondary Session Manager 2
