Enabling or disabling GDPR

Last Updated : Feb 22, 2024 |

Procedure

  1. Log in to the EMS web interface with administrator credentials.
  2. On the Device menu, click the Avaya SBC instance to administer.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Compliance > GDPR.

The system displays the GDPR tab.

  4. Do one of the following:
    • To enable GDPR, select the Enable GDPR check box.

    • To disable GDPR, clear the Enable GDPR check box.

  5. In the Passphrase field, enter a 12-character passphrase that Avaya SBC uses for encryption.

You can use a combination of alphabets, numbers, and special characters in your passphrase.

After enabling GDPR, you cannot leave this field blank. However, if GDPR is already enabled and a passphrase exists, you can leave this field blank to use the existing passphrase or enter a new passphrase.

    Note:

After entering a new passphrase, the files that are already encrypted with the older passphrase cannot be decrypted using the new one. You must use the older passphrase to decrypt them.

    Note:

When you upgrade from an earlier release that had GDPR enabled to Release 10.2 and later, Avaya SBC sets the Passphrase field to default-passphrase by default.

  6. In the Confirm Passphrase field, enter the passphrase again for confirmation.
  7. Optional To use a Remote log server to store the encrypted files, do the following:

By default, the encrypted files are stored locally in Avaya SBC.

    1. Select the Enable Remote Log Server check box.

The system displays the Remote Log Server Details tab.

    2. Configure the fields as described in Remote log server field descriptions.
  8. Click Save.
