Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a standard protocol that is used extensively to provide a secure channel by encrypting communications over IP networks. TLS enables clients to authenticate servers or servers to authenticate clients. Avaya SBC security products utilize TLS primarily to facilitate secure communications with remote users.

Avaya SBC includes several certificates and profiles that you can use to quickly set up secure communications using TLS. These certificates and profiles are listed in the pre-installed Avaya Profiles and Certificates section. Alternatively, Avaya SBC supports the configuration of third-party certificates and TLS settings. For optimum security, use System Manager or third-party certificates.
