Use this procedure to install or remove QFEs for High Availability clusters. Changes are applied as follows, to prevent loss of service:
Apply or remove the QFE for the standby server.
After activating the updated standby server, apply or remove the QFE for the other server.
Navigate to EMElement Status on each server and determine which server has the High Availability State of Standby.
To lock the state on the active server, navigate to EMCluster ConfigurationHigh Availability and select the Local High Availability State Lock checkbox.
Click Save.
Click Confirm.
To install or remove a QFE for the standby server, go to Step 6 of the procedure to install or remove a QFE .
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Wait for any alarms to clear as the server returns to service and synchronizes the active sessions with the other server.
To unlock the state on the active server, navigate to EMCluster ConfigurationHigh Availability and clear the Local High Availability State Lock checkbox.
Click Save.
Click Confirm.
To put the active server in standby, navigate to EMElement Status and select Failover from the More Actions drop-down menu.
Click Confirm.
STEP RESULT:
The active server is now the standby server.
To lock the state on the active server, navigate to EMCluster ConfigurationHigh Availability and select the Local High Availability State Lock checkbox.
Click Save.
Click Confirm.
To install or remove a QFE for the standby server, go to Step 6 of the procedure to install or remove a QFE .
